LIBBY HIGH SCHOOL

Reminder to seniors:  This year's deadline for senior pictures for the yearbook is NOVEMBER 1.  If you have any questions or if you cannot afford professional pictures, please see Mrs. Barrick in Room 35 as soon as possible.

 

GREAT MEETING: Today at lunch in Ms. Germany’s room. Please plan to attend and help LHS have a GREAT year!

 

Anyone interested in joining the LHS Speech, Drama & Debate team please meet in Rm. 28 during lunch on Thursday,

 

All juniors will be taking the ASVAB test next Tuesday morning, September 14th from 8:30-11:30. Any seniors interested in the military are encouraged to take the test also.

 

SENIORS the first SAT is OCT. 9th. You have until Sept. 10th to register. Information is in the Guidance office

 

The High School Afterschool program will begin today  September 8th.   The Afterschool bus will not be available until October, so all participating students in the Afterschool program during the month of September will be responsible for their own transportation.   The program will run Monday-Thursday from 3:30-5:00pm in the high school library.  You do NOT need to sign-up to attend the program.  We hope to see you there!  If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Dodson in the library.

 

The Middle School After School Programs is now hiring! We are seeking dependable high school students to assist with after school program activities. This would include tutoring, homework help, computer assistance, and other help as needed. Involvement with this program would be beneficial on resumes and scholarship applications. We are offering $7.25 per hour for those selected. Hours would be 3:30-5:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday beginning sometime in October.  Applications for this job are available in the office. Please return them as soon as possible to the office, but no later than Thursday, Sept. 16th. Applicants will be contacted sometime after that date for an interview.

 

Jostens will be here TODAY Sept. 8th to meet with the SENIORS at 8:30 -9:00 in the choir room and SOPHOMORES from 9:30 – 10:00

Award-winning young adult author Chris Crutcher will speak TONIGHT at the Little Theatre at 7:00.  The high school library has several of his books that are quite popular.  Mr. Crutcher speaks about censorship and writing strategies.  This will be a great presentation for all to attend.

 

Any senior needing a copy of their official transcript for scholarships due by Dec 31st must request it from Mrs. Day by Dec 21st! Check your scholarships now to see what their deadline and requirements are! Any questions contact the counseling office.

 

Start bringing in your canned goods and nonperishable items now for the LHS Food Drive.  We are competing against Troy ms/hs and our middle school!  The big winners will be the community but lets bring in more than the other schools!! The items can be dropped off in Mrs. Germany's room or placed under the trees as you walk in the building. From Dec.8th – Dec.17th

 

GREAT Gingerbread House Building Night is on Wednesday, December 16, in the cafeteria starting at 4:00 pm.  PLEASE Sign up in Mrs. Germany's room by Friday, December 11th  so the team knows how much to prepare for when gathering materials and goodies.
