What is ROAR? (Click on the lion to learn more)
Libby Elementary believes that every child desires to do well and to be successful.
Adults often ASSUME that a child KNOWS the correct way to behave or how to act in a variety of situations. At Libby Elementary, we’ve taken the guesswork out of what is expected. We teach every student through direct instruction what is exactly needed for success.
This direct instruction occurs everyday, in every class, and in every area of our school. Teachers use standardized lessons to teach the behaviors (see website for Teach to’s). Students practice with their teacher. Daily demonstrations throughout the school year help to continually reinforce the behaviors that create a calm and peaceful school.
Staff work diligently to positively reinforce, recognize, and praise students that have learned the Teach To’s. Libby Elementary has an extensive positive reward program to help maintain excitement. Rewards are daily, weekly, intermittent, monthly, and quarterly.
